This topic is a brainstorming topic for the EvilCMS project idea. Anyone can post ideas for the system here.

Okay, so. Even tho we call this project a CMS. Its main part is going to be a forum. However, I think we should also make it a CMS. So basically its a forum engine with a pre-coded portal.

Main features
- Any page can be created at any time with a WYSIWYG editor
- Any link can be placed in the main navigation bar at any time with a easy to use navigation bar management system
- The forum will be a lightweight, clean and simple forum. But still powerful as in usable and features.
- The forum will be the best of ~~both~~ all words(other forum engines) vbulletin, ipb, smf and all those other good forum engines.
- The system's main priority is clean, simple and SECURE code. I want comments all over this source code!
- Fully implemented AJAX/jQuery for a smoooooth experience
- Safe and easy file sharing (attachments etc)

Hit me with more ideas!

some sort of backup system that stores the copy on a file sharing service in case the server crashes.Don't know if it can be done though.

Nah, unnecessary. And complex, and insecure. Maybe we can fix a FTP backup system with a PHP cron every x time. But that will be an additional optional feature in any case.

You want this forum engine to be really unique? If not, we should have all the basic features as a common/regular forum engine such as this one we're using (SMF) or vBulletin, and by the basic features I mean:

PM system
Rep system
Posting system
Theme changing (so user can change to like black version of the design)
Moderating system (for staff)
And so on..
