Promote Evilzone?
« on: August 08, 2011, 12:10:53 AM »
Activity has seemed a little slow. I'm wondering why we haven't been promoting EZ. I'd help if  we could make some youtube videos, post on other hacking related sites, invite people who know about hacking etc.

Just to keep this place alive.

Since I joined back in November it has definitely grown, I just hope that it doesn't get too popular and become filled with skiddies.

We got enough promoting. The people we seek will not be looking at the types of promoting discussed here anyways. The type of persons we want will seak out this place anyway.

Remember; Quality over quantity.

Nonetheless. Feel free to promote as much as you want.

guys the best way to promote it is through some friends. You speak to them about this really good but kinda
underground site and they will be all over it as soon as they get home.Have you ever given candy to a kid?Well it's
the same thing if you present EZ this way,and remember friends tell their friends and so on...
So go tell your (trusted) friends!XD
If it moves shoot it,if it runs... hack it!

It does seem kind of sparse, but supposedly there is some kind of "Big Project" coming out sometime? So I'm not sure there is even a point to advertising until then.

I think the main thing is that Evilzone needs to figure out what it's goals are. It seems like we are in an awkward "Half Professiona/Half Underground Hackers" paradigm.

Obviously its a hard choice to make, when I first joined this place was booming, and there were many very smart people around - there still is, but there are less. Anything was allowed, which gave a very cool underground feeling, warez, sql db dumps, a bunch of skiddy tools and content, but at the same time there was 10x more content around. There we're a lot of bad things with this however, tons of skiddies, a lot of flak from hacking other big communities (anyone remember that bike community fiasco?), a lot of warez posts were untrust worthy, thinking back, it was pretty dangerous behavior.

Now on the other hand being more professional gives us better quality, but content and users are much more sparse, and there are still a lot of skiddies, just less than before.

It's hard for me to decide which is better though. This is what I do know however:
1. EZ is best as a "back-alley mecca" of Hacking and Security
2. With a name like "Evilzone", we will never truely be a "Professional" website, I think just pushing for Quality would be better
3. Defacements are a bad idea, and will only cause us problems
4. We need more content, and to get this, we need better incentives for our users to make content
5. If we produce good content people will come naturally

TL;DR: We should promote more, but only after this big project or some restructuring.

Well, its seems like true that we are getting low in post because of Quality.
But if we try to lower the quality then we won't be professional anymore.
And this forum is started in the name of professionality.

Actully people are more interested in handy stuff or premium accounts.. the hell man forum with such posts got 50000 to 60000 users.

We can add one or two boards with such posts. if we find someone who can update it regularly for users.

otherwise..

If we want to keep Evilzone in a good position then we have to find some telented people only.(IF WE WANT TO KEEP EVILZONE AS EVILZONE)

Otherwise promoting normaly will lower the Quality. Just tell your friend who have good telent will be helpful to our community.

No it didn't. Maybe this most recent version of it.

Interesting point, back in the day part of the fun posting here wasn't just the large amount of tutorials and good community, but also "Handy Stuff", not necessarily only premium accounts, but it felt as if EZ had an arsenal of assorted handy stuff. It's hard to say what exactly that means cause I dont really remember anymore, but I remember going to EZ and always being very interested in some of the cool handy stuff people would post. Whether it was a short trick, some premium account, or a custom app that was super useful. Evilzone felt like "your underground hookup".

I think in the end people want things of be interesting, and in general things are far more interesting with bigger communities.
More people = more discussion = more pros in the long run

I felt like there used to be a lot more people around back in the day, both pros and skiddies. Sure skiddies are annoying but some actually learn in the long run, and more pros around will generally increase quality and knowledge of the entire site in the long run.

Sorry I'm not trying to be a nostalgia fag or anything, nor am I saying that EZ was better back in the day. I just miss the livelihood and hope we can return, I have some ideas, but first I'm interested in what this new project might bring.
